Facebook Home App Achieves 5,00,000 Downloads Milestone

Facebook Home’ that made quite a buzz around prior to its launch has now achieved a milestone of more than 5,00,000 downloads in the Google Play Store. The app was made available in US Google Play Store on 12th of this month followed by global roll-out on 15th. Reportedly, HTC One smartphone has been added to the list of Facebook Home compatible handsets which includes Samsung Galaxy Note II, HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S III, HTC One X+ and of course HTC First. However, Samsung Galaxy S IV is yet to be added to the list.

Facebook Home

It is said that the figure is kind of obvious, because nowadays people are being curious. But the number of current active users would probably be less seeing the reviews on the Google Play Store. So how come Facebook Home managed to achieve that milestone? Actually, the thing is, like we said curiosity is the reason why Facebook Home achieved such a milestone. Whenever someone clicks on ‘Install’ button it is counted as one install no matter if the user really launches the app or just have it for less than 5 minutes.

If you now take a look at the reviews on Google Play store, you’ll see more than 5000 (currently) people think the app is worth 1 star. So what does it really mean, they must have uninstalled the app after using it for a while. If you check now the app has been receiving poor ratings. The current average rating is 2.2 out of 5 for about 11,000 ratings. So obviously the number of active users of Facebook Home is far below 5,00,000.

Like we said, the app is compatible with quite a few handsets running on Android v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system or higher. The app is totally free to download and as soon as you install it on your smartphone, its user interface will be changed with a new lock and home screen. And some significant features of the app are Cover Feed, Chat Heads and Messenger, Notifications and App Launcher.

If you still want to install this app on your smartphone even after seeing the poor ratings, you’re welcome. Head over to Google Play marketplace to get it installed on your smartphone. As mentioned above, HTC One is now compatible with app, so if you are its user then get it downloaded as soon as possible. And do let us know what you think about the app by simply leaving a comment below.
