HP aka Hewlett Packard, one of the top PC manufacturers, has recently launched its much awaited Windows 8 table in India i.e. the ElitePad 900, which is said to be specially intended for the business enterprises. The tablet is the first from HP to have Intel Atom CloverTrail+ SoC chipset, which was recently announced. Other than it, HP had also unveiled its HP Slate 7 at Mobile World Congress 2013. The ElitePad 900 priced at Rs.43500/- and comes with numerous features and specifications, take a look at them below.
Running on latest Windows 8 operating system, the ElitePad 900 boasts a 10.1 inch capacitive multitouch screen with a display resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The tablet comes with a dual core Intel Atom Z2760 processor clocking at 1.80 GHz with CloverTrail+ SoC chipset. As stated above, it comes equipped with Windows 8 Pro operating system. It has 2 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC SSD hard drive, which can further be expanded via HP External optical drive (optional) and microSD card.
The ElitePad 900 sports an 8 Megapixel camera at rear with LED flash and a 1080p front camera. It also comes with HP PageLift technology, which helps you edit your pictures manually. It is really lightweight weighing only 0.63 Kg and ultrathin with 9.2 mm thickness. The business-oriented tablet comprises aluminum exterior shell in addition to the Gorilla Glass. The tablet features SRS Audio for clear and loud sound. Moreover, there is digital dual-array Microphone, which makes your teleconferencing sharp with incorporated hi-fi speakers.
It comes with a removable internal battery that has 8 hours of backup and HP is also offering you an auxiliary battery that costs Rs.5000/- for additional backup up to 11 hours. Other than the additional battery, HP is also offering a number of accessories which are specifically designed for the tablet such as Docking Station, Expansion Jacket, Slim Bluetooth Keyboard, Executive Tablet Pen and Productivity Jacket.
While announcing the tablet, Mr. Sunish Raghavan, head, commercial PC category, printing and personal systems group, HP India, said, “The tablet replaces primary computing devices and provides an eco-system which addresses the requirements of the enterprise.”
With a bulky price tag of Rs.43500/-, it would be interesting to see if the HP ElitePad 900 being a business oriented tablet could stick out against other affordable yet high-end tablets from homegrown as well as foreign manufactures.
