The subordinate Smartphone brand of Lava International, XOLO, has recently announced that it will be releasing Jelly Bean firmware update for some its selected handsets in the near future. The best thing is that the users don’t need to rush to their nearest service center as the update is going to be rolled out Over the Air (OTA).This is indeed different as most of the domestic manufacturers are inclined to provide updates via their Service Centers. This information we’ve got from an unofficial source.
So which handsets are going to receive the update? As a matter of fact, we are yet to know about it. But it is expected that most of the XOLO handsets would be receiving Jelly Bean update. XOLO’s recently launched smartphone XOLO X1000 could be one of them and XOLO X500 could be too. The source of this information, The Mobile Indian, hasn’t mentioned anything about this matter but listed a few expected handsets.
A XOLO Spokesperson, who informed about the update, said, “We will be releasing the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 update in next few days for some of our smartphones and it will be available over the air. We don’t want our smartphone users to waste their time and energy in first locating the nearest center and then getting their smartphone upgrade when technology can do it remotely.”
If XOLO releases the Jelly Bean update Over the Air (OTA), then it would become the first Indian homegrown manufacturer to do so. Before XOLO, Micromax and Lava Mobiles, yet another brand of Lava International, released Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for some their handsets. However, the smartphones users of these brands had to visit their respective authorized service centers to get it done.
Like we said, nothing is official right now. But we expect XOLO to reveal some official proclamations in a few days. However, keep checking the notification panel of your smartphone, XOLO could release the update prior to any official announcement. Moreover, it is expected the customers who are unable to update the firmware of their smartphones can pay a visit to their nearest XOLO service center.
